The Magic School Bus: Voyage to the Volcano

We enjoy Magic School Bus books and this one was no exception. Filled with lots of great information about volcanoes, it was a hit with Thomas. He picked it because we’re going to Maui soon and he wanted to be well prepared when he met his first volcano in person!

Horrible Harry and the Dragon War: Chapter 1

“Horrible Harry” is a different kind of book… In fact… It feels like a “normal” book! You know, one with more text than pictures. Thomas likes it but it’s a little above his level.

Disney’s Adventure Stories: Mulan

This book is full of great stories and wonderful illustrations. Here Thomas picked Mulan to read. He’s a pretty good first grade reader and this book is stretching him without being too complicated.

I Spy A School Bus

Thomas took it pretty easy with this book (it’s only level 1) but he and the twins had fun. Thomas would read them the riddles and Alexander and Daniel raced each other to find the objects. They were pretty evenly matched!
